Internet Connections:
eLynx uses two Internet connections to maximize access to customer data via the Web. Our primary connection is provisioned via an OC-3 to SBC. The second connection is provisioned via a copper based Double T to Worldcom. Both Internet connections are interconnected using Border Gateway Protocol. This allows eLynx to make network routing decisions based on network load and customer location in relation to the customers Internet provider.

Firewall Connections:
eLynx uses dual Cisco Pix firewalls in an active fail over configuration. This allows secure access to and from the Internet in the event that a firewall should fail for any reason. Internet traffic is disrupted for only a few seconds in the event of a firewall failure.

Server Hardware:
eLynx uses server grade computers to provide both speed and reliability. eLynx uses load balanced web servers, logic servers, and database servers. eLynx currently has multiple Terabytes of database capacity. eLynx also uses clustering technologies for high availability.

Data Protection:
eLynx uses tape libraries with Raid 5 tape stripping to backup systems. Tapes are stored offsite at an underground vault that is temperature controlled, fire safe, insured, and manned with armed guards.

Dark Site:
eLynx is currently building a second data center located in Tulsa. The site will provide reduced access to customer data in the event of a natural disaster of the master data center. This site will have resources to allow customer access while the master data center is being brought back to full capacity.

Physical Security:
eLynx's master Data Center uses many levels of security. All access to the building is recorded with a surveillance system. All access to doors is controlled by a central security system located inside the Data Center. There is very limited access to the Data Center and only senior network engineers have access to enter. Once inside, all rack enclosures are locked to provide additional physical security.

Fire Protection:
The eLynx Data Center has an advanced fire protection system. The entire Data Center has an FM2-Clean gas system that will stop the fire by removing the necessary components to have a fire within four seconds of fire detection. The Data Center has four overhead and below floor fire detection sensors as well as manual fire extinguishers.

Secure Socket Layer:
eLynx uses the industry standard data encryption to secure data that is sent over the Internet from the eLynx web farms to customer connections. eLynx has the same 128-bit encryption used by major banks.

Up Time:
eLynx has made strong commitments to provide customer data 24 hours a day. To date, eLynx has exceeded the internally set goal of 99.99% up time in the last year.
